I have to say that there have been many updates for the pro x and it has improved over time, however many bugs and issues still remain and customer support for the pro x is at best very poor with the staff having little knowledge of the technical issues found on a daily basis.Ĭustomer services have so far bricked the device on three occasions requiring hours of reloading and total loss of all data and without resolving the original problem (don't let them reset your device or set up phantom accounts) this doesn't work and creates more problems. If the current state of play continues it could spell out disaster for this platform. I'm surprised that Microsoft have not resolved the issues with this device as it would seem that they intend to peruse ARM technology in many future devices. I know that the emulator is currently available on the insider program, but all indicators are that its even more buggy than the somewhat limited 32bit emulator. When I was convinced to buy this item, it came with a promise of 64bit emulator being very soon to follow, however this is now eight months later and still no idea how long we will have to wait. They typically expire, at times controlled by the university, possibly once per year.I have been asking this question for some time now without a viable answer.

trial licenses: expire, usually after 30 days.
There is, though, a twist, that any one licenses assigned under a TAH master license might be required to renew access even though the overall license has not expired, as TAH are charged according to the estimated number of users, so universities have reason to check that people who were using a license still need the license. Total Academic Headcount licenses (the kind of license that permits students to use university licences to access MATLAB) are, if I understand correctly, always Term licences. Educational licenses: when purchased by individuals or small departments, it is more common for the licenses to be Perpetual. It is more common for places that have Term licenses to use Network license servers. It is more common for Individual licenses to be Perpetual, but they could be Term.
Standard (commercial / professional) licenses can be either Term or Perpetual. The people running the MOOC are responsible for providing updated licenses if there is an extension. MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses): Always Term licenses. The Student licenses purchased through the online store are Perpetual, but can only be used while the student is enrolled in an appropriate educational institution. Student licenses: mathworks used to sell 8 month or 1 year licenses through campus bookstores, but I have not heard of that for a number of years and I do not know if that is still offered.
